I called New Zealand home for 30 years. It was where I grew up on a small orchard, went to school with about 10 others,
and its where i discovered my love for making. I was pretty inquisitive, so if I wasn't pulling things apart, I was making my own toys or forts. I even tried making a parachute.
That didn't go well, but it was these early years that set me on my path to become a designer, a maker of things.
It took me a while to work out that you can make a living doing these things, and it was my father's influence, that you are better off doing it, rather than talking about it
that shaped my approach to problem solving.
San Francisco is my home now, the perfect place for a thinker, designer, maker.
