The brief was to design a rugged hand-held computer that could serve the security forces for the Beijing Olympics, that could be a medical clipboard, or that could be a digital manual for mobile repair services.. I worked with an ARM design team on the board and then procured and integrated a touch ring navigation wheel. This allowed for one handed interaction for most applications. I then designed the case as a co-molded form and through 3 prototype iterations delivered the final product to the team. This team consisted of members from the U.S., China, U.K., Australia, and N.Z.

While out paddle boarding on San Francisco Bay I experienced first hand the pain of standing on a paddle board for long periods of time. I looked around at footwear options and the best solution on the market was a pair of Reef Jandals.
This got me thinking about a product that was tailor made for paddleboarding. The requirements were few, It had to be comfortable.
I researched material and sourced an air infused gel for the midsole. This was then co moulded into a rubber sole and a EVA foam liner.

This medical unit was conceived as a breakthrough in imaging. The technology allows for non invasive 3D scanning of any organic object.
The Industrial Design approach was to soften the atypical medical device with smooth curves, playful colours and an almost human like character.
The back lit touch screen interface enhanced usability and improved cleanability.
